
Hilda Kay (Bolt) Asche, 80, of Scipio passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Hilda was born on Friday, October 12, 1945; daughter of Marvin and Ada (Taylor) Bolt. She married Lloyd Asche on June 18, 2002, and he preceded her on October 28, 2017. Hilda worked as a bottler at Anchor Glass, was a truck driver for Cintran, and also worked for UPS. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles as well as feeding and watching the hummingbirds. Most of all Hilda cherished spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchild.
Hilda will be missed by her son Shane (Jana) Smock of Scipio; daughter Dana (Charlie) Jones of Lafayette; brother Colin Bolt of Indianapolis; sister Willow Bovard of Rising Sun; grandchildren Cara (Paul) Maschino, Ashley (Andy) Hales, Dylan (Kenzi) Smock, and Abby Ethridge; and great-grandchildren Bennett, Connor, and Gavin.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husbands Lloyd Asche and Wayne Smock; grandson Chris Readling; sisters Margaret Wright and Voisel Messer; brother Cecil Bolt; sisters-in-law Evelyn Bolt and Carolyn Bolt; and brother-in-law Bill Bovard.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Hilda from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Cliff Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Hilda to Mercy Rescue and Adoption of North Vernon.
