Employers, supervisors, working mothers and other community members can learn about federal workplace protections during a free public program in Versailles.
(Versailles, IN) – The Ripley County Health Department will host a public presentation aimed at explaining the rights of working and nursing mothers under federal law.
The “Lunch & Learn: The PUMP Act — The Rights of Working and Nursing Mothers” will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the commissioners’ meeting room at the Ripley County Annex Building.

A representative from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division will lead the presentation.
The session will cover the basics of the 2022 federal law, what accommodations employers are required to provide and possible exemptions based on company size, industry or other factors.
Attendees will also learn about the timeline and steps involved in filing a complaint.
Lunch will not be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own food.
Advance registration is required to ensure enough seating is available. Organizers said the presentation is expected to fill quickly.
