Anna Catharine Hartman, 84, Morris


Anna Catharine “Ann” (Huenefeld) Hartman, age 84, of Morris, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Monday, August 3, 2026.

She was born July 27, 1942, in Batesville, Indiana, the daughter of Paul C. and Isabella (née Messang) Huenefeld. Ann graduated from Immaculate Conception in Oldenburg. She spent many years as laundry manager at Margaret Mary Hospital, where she was known for her dependable and hardworking nature.

Ann found great joy in the simple things of life. She loved to sew and cook, and she especially enjoyed her collection of recipe books. She took pride in life on the farm and cherished opportunities to travel. A lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Morris, Ann was a devoted member of the St. Anne’s Ladies Sodality and faithfully served the Morris Fire Department Auxiliary for more than 50 years. Her commitment to both her church and her community never wavered.

She is survived by her children: Bob (Kim) Hartman, Isabella (Craig) Crume, Tim Hartman, Chuck (Andrea) Hartman, and Phil (Kathy) Hartman; her grandchildren: Andy (Samantha), Wayne (Jessica), Bridget (Malek), Chris (Kiann), Katherine (Jorge), Anna (Nick), Bailey, Maria (Kenny), Joe, Amelia (Tyler), Josie (Logan), and Isaac; 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and her siblings: Paula Jude O’Neal, Paul Huenefeld, and Helen (Don) Eisert.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her daughter-in-law, Janet (Lecher) Hartman.

Ann’s family will miss her strength, her steady presence, and the way she was always there for those she loved.

The Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, with visitation to follow from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Morris with Fr. Shaun Whittington officiating.
