The Cincinnati Reds came from behind three times to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-7 at Great American Ball Park in a game heard last night on WRBI. Rookie Sal Stewart drove in four runs, including a go-ahead two-run homer in the fourth inning and a game-tying two-run single in the Reds’ three-run eighth. Stewart has 23 home runs and leads Major League Baseball with 84 RBIs. JJ Bleday added his 19th homer of the year. Emilio Pagan notched the win in relief and improves to 4-1. Game three of the series is tonight. Lefty Andrew Abbott (5-6, 3.85 ERA) gets the ball for Cincinnati. Righthander Braxton Ashcraft (10-4, 4.05 ERA) goes for Pittsburgh. The Indiana Fever beat the Portland Fire 112-98 on the road last night in WNBA action. Caitlin Clark recorded her fourth career triple-double: 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Kelsey Mitchell also scored 26. The Fever have won five straight and improve to 19-10. Indiana’s road trip concludes tomorrow afternoon when the Fever goes up against the Minnesota Lynx. Tipoff is at 1 p.m.
CBS Sports has placed NFL analyst Tony Romo on indefinite leave following his drunk driving arrest. Romo was cuffed last week in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin on suspicion of operating a vehicle while under the influence. JJ Watt will join Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson on CBS Sports’ lead NFL team during Romo’s absence. Romo has a court date set for September 21.
