He went 4 1/3 innings, allowed four unearned runs on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts. The Reds offense was held to six hits. The homestand continues when the Reds begin a four-game series tonight against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rhett Lowder (3-7, 5.16 ERA) starts for the Reds. The start time for the Reds game on August 30 against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field been moved to primetime. It will now start at 7:20 p.m. to accommodate NBC Sunday Night Baseball.
Bengals defensive end Shemar Stewart was taken off the field on a cart on the first day of training camp yesterday in downtown Cincinnati. Stewart later returned to practice with a knee brace and on crutches. The extent of his injury is undetermined.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones returned to the field on the team’s first day of training camp at Grand Park in Westfield. Jones is working his way back from an Achilles injury he suffered late last season.
The NTT IndyCar Series has revealed the new car they will roll out for the 2027 season. The Dallara /dah-LAH-ruh/ IR-28 is said to be a lighter and safer version of the current chassis. It ran some test laps for drivers and teams at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Tuesday. Conor Daly said on X that the car has a lot of new components that drivers have been asking for.
