(Batesville, IN) -The Greatest Need Foundation, Inc. is embarking on its mission to support individuals and families in Decatur, Franklin, and Ripley counties who are facing cancer.
A community ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on July 30 at 4:30 pm at Batesville Memorial Public Library’s Green Space to mark the beginning of a foundation dedicated to providing financial assistance, emotional support, and practical resources during one of life’s most challenging seasons.
“Founded with a heart for compassion and community care, The Greatest Need Foundation exists to ensure that no family walks the cancer journey alone,” the organization said in a statement. “Through donor support and local partnerships, the foundation provides help with medical travel, household needs, comfort items, and other essential assistance that brings relief and hope to families in crisis.”
“We created The Greatest Need Foundation because we saw firsthand how deeply cancer impacts every part of a family’s life,” said founder and president Kari Ann Rennekamp. “Our mission is simple — to show up for people when they need it most. This ribbon cutting is more than an event; it’s a promise to our community that we will stand beside every family facing cancer.”
The ribbon cutting ceremony will include remarks from foundation leadership, recognition of community partners, and a moment of prayer for families currently battling cancer.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the foundation’s programs, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support the mission.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved into the Arts and Innovation Hub.
Community members, local leaders, healthcare partners, and supporters are encouraged to attend and celebrate the launch of the initiative.
