
Katie enjoyed tending to her garden, crocheting, and creating art projects. She kept close correspondence with her close friend, Al, until his passing. Aunt Katie helped raise many of her beloved nieces and nephews as her own and was looked at as a second mom to many of them. She also enjoyed time with her great nieces and nephews.
Catherine is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Theresa Greiwe, Rita Grote, Marie Meehan, Clara Schwering, Alma Personett, and Rose Weigel; brothers Leo Holtel, Frank Holtel, and Charles P. Holtel; brothers-in-law Al Greiwe, Ray Grote, Chris Meehan, Tom Schwering, Glen Personett, and Leon Weigel.
Visitation will be Monday, July 27th, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg, with a rosary service at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at 12 p.m., with Fr. E.J. Stein OFM officiating. The burial will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Hamburg, Indiana.
