(Indianapolis) — Tyrese Haliburton is stepping up to the plate for a good cause. The Indiana Pacers star will captain the Pacers Foundation Charity Softball Classic on Aug. 24 at Victory Field, teaming up with players from across Indiana’s pro sports scene for a night that mixes softball with a serious mission: fighting youth food insecurity.
Tickets go on sale Friday, July 24, at 2 p.m., and general admission will run just $10, with proceeds benefiting the Pacers Foundation.
“The Pacers Foundation Charity Softball Classic is about bringing people together for a fun, memorable night,” said Corey Wilson, Pacers Sports & Entertainment SVP of community engagement.
A star-studded lineup
Pacers players Aaron Nesmith, Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell are expected to suit up, along with other Pacers and Indiana Fever athletes. The Indianapolis Colts are sending reinforcements too, with Daniel Jones, Jonathan Taylor, Alec Pierce, Sauce Gardner, Cam Bynum and Mo Alie-Cox all slated to play.
Former Colts punter turned media personality Pat McAfee will emcee the festivities. Organizers say more participants will be announced in the coming weeks.
Fans can also expect appearances from Pacers mascot Boomer, the Indiana Pacemates, Hype Crew, Fever Inferno and Fever mascot Freddy Fever.

The cause behind the game
The game supports Drive & Dish, powered by Gleaners2Go — a free program started by Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle and backed by the Pacers Foundation to get nutritious food to families across the state. The initiative targets a stark statistic: roughly 260,000 Hoosier kids under 14 face food insecurity. Since launching, Drive & Dish has delivered more than 1.2 million pounds of food across 21 sites statewide.
