Sunday marks the official opening day of the 2026 Ripley County Fair, with livestock events, exhibits, opening ceremonies and family entertainment on the schedule.
The Western Horse and Pony Show begins at 10 a.m. The Poultry Show follows at 3 p.m., with Summer Judging beginning at 4 p.m.
Exhibit halls will be open to the public from 5 to 9 p.m., giving fairgoers their first opportunity to explore this year’s 4-H and Open Class exhibits.
Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. and include the official ribbon cutting, recognition of the Junior Leader Royalty, the introduction of the Miss Ripley County Queen and Court, and the annual 4-H Banner Parade. The Fashion Revue will follow immediately afterward.
Sunday’s featured grandstand event is the Barn Yard Olympics. Registration will be held from 6 to 6:45 p.m., with competition beginning at 7 p.m.
The evening concludes with the 4-H Awards Program at 7:30 p.m.
