Shirley J. Campbell, 84, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at 10:24 p.m. in Edgewood, Kentucky.
Shirley was born on October 10, 1941, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to Clarence and Eva (Sackett) Smith.
She enjoyed teaching Bible School, as well as studying the Bible. Alongside her husband, she faithfully ministered in several states, including Kansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Ohio and Florida. Shirley had a love for gardening and interior decorating. Shirley enjoyed good conversation and good food. Above all, Shirley treasured her family, and spending time with them was her greatest joy.
Shirley is lovingly remembered by her husband, James E. Campbell; her sons, Brian (Nanci) Campbell, Gregory (Karla) Campbell, and Shawn (Debra) Campbell; her grandchildren, Derrick, Jesse (Meagan), Mikayla (Johnathan), and Morgan; step-grandchildren, Leah and Kelly Funk; great grandmother of Harper and Lilly; and step great grandmother to Andrew; and her siblings, Judy Robinson, Michael Smith, Beverly (Richard) Turner, and Royce (Cheryl) Smith; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Eva (Sackett) Smith; grandson, Gregory Campbell Jr.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana 47001. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with burial immediately following at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Aurora, Indiana.
