Batesville High School is looking for a new boys and girls head golf coach. Ben Siefert has stepped down from the post after a number of years leading the boys and girls programs. His resignation was accepted at Wednesday’s Batesville School Board meeting.
The Reds return from the All-Star break by opening a three-city, nine-game road trip tomorrow night in Denver against the Colorado Rockies. Cincinnati begins the so-called second half of the season at 43-52, 15 ½ games behind first place Milwaukee in the National League Central Division, and eight games out for the third and final Wild Card spot. Brady Singer is scheduled to start tomorrow night against the Rockies. Airtime is at 8:10 tomorrow night on 103.9 FM.
It was the Golden State Valkyries over the Indiana Fever 88-75 in WNBA action last night in downtown Indianapolis. It’s the second-year franchise’s record eighth consecutive win. The Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 20 points; Aliyah Boston added 15, and Caitlin Clark scored 13 points. With the loss, the Fever drops to 14-10 on the year. Indiana is back on the court tomorrow night at home against Seattle.
The Minnesota Timberwolves dumped the Indiana Pacers 114-98 in NBA Summer League action yesterday in Las Vegas. Jalen Slawson led Indiana with 20 points and nine rebounds. Former Purdue star Trey Kaufman-Renn tossed in 14 points off the bench for the Timberwolves. After winning the opening contest, the Pacers dropped three straight and finish Summer League play at 1-3.
