Mrs. Rita Mae (Cecil) Williams, age 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, entered this life on January 20, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late, Robert E. Cecil Sr. and Dora (Lee) Cecil. Rita was raised in Louisville, Kentucky where she graduated high school. Rita was united in marriage on October 7, 1978 to Willie J. Williams. They shared 29 years of marriage together until his passing on April 22, 2007. Rita was employed for Krill Enterprises in Louisville, Kentucky for a few years. Rita passed away at 2:40 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Rita is survived by her cousin, Susan “Sue” Nichols of Louisville, KY and her several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Cecil Sr., died March 17, 1936; her mother, Dora (Lee) Cecil, died February 7, 1979; her brothers, Harold L. Cecil Sr., died May 28, 2012 and Robert E. Cecil Jr., died October 23, 1982; her sister, Dorothy Robinson, died December 5, 1994; her special niece, Anita Robinson and her special cousin, Joseph E. “Joe” Blackburn, died July 14, 2025.
Interment will be held at 1:15 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2026 at the Green Meadow Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 3800 Shanks Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40216.
