The Reds have placed outfielder Dane Myers on a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League. Myers has been on the Injured List since June 29 with a left shoulder contusion.

Jordan Walker of the St. Louis Cardinals is the Home Run Derby champ. He edged former Indiana Hoosier Kyle Schwarber of the hometown Philadelphia Phillies 12-11 in the final round.

The American League takes on the National League in the 96th Major League Baseball All-Star Game tonight in Philadelphia. Toronto Blue Jays righthander Dylan Cease will be the AL starting pitcher; lefthander Cristopher Sanchez of the Philadelphia Phillies goes in his home ball park for the Senior Circuit. The Reds will be represented by pitcher Chase Burns and rookie infielder Sal Stewart. However, Chase will not pitch tonight due to right groin tightness. He’s expected to make his next scheduled start a week from tonight in Seattle.

The Toronto Raptors held off the Indiana Pacers 94-93 in NBA Summer League play yesterday in Las Vegas. The Pacers rallied from an 18-point deficit, but a blocked shot in the final seconds sealed it for the Raptors. Rienk Mast recorded a double double for Indiana; he had a game-high 23 points to go along with 10 rebounds. The Pacers fall to 1-2 in the Summer League. They’ll be back on the on the court tomorrow afternoon against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The historic Monon Bell Classic college football rivalry game between Wabash and DePauw will be played on Nov. 14 this year at Scheumann Stadium on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, due to DePauw’s stadium demolition. It’s the first time since 1922 that the game won’t be played on either campus. DePauw will be the designated home team. The Monon Bell rivalry dates back to 1890.
