Donald Perry Strub, age 65, of Batesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 10, 1960, in Newport, Kentucky, the son of Earl E. Strub Jr. and Phyllis J. (Smith) Strub. On October 17, 1987, Don married Amy Louise Wissel, who survives him.
Don worked in construction for over 30 years before becoming a team lead at the Honda Manufacturing Plant. A true hands-on person, Donald spent many hours working in his pole barn and lived by the motto “If you rest, you rust.” He enjoyed collecting coins and guns, and took special pride in watching his sons wrestle, always cheering them on.
Don will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, uncle and brother who deeply loved his family. He was a loving and dependable man who was always there whenever someone needed him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Strub; sons, Zach (Sarah) Strub and Michael Strub; sister, Julie (Gary) Meyer; and brothers, Dan Strub and Darren (Debbie) Strub.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Steven Brown.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Rev. John Barker, O.F.M. will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Oldenburg.
