Linda Jane Turner, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Brookville, Indiana, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born July 16, 1947, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. & Freda M. (Kettle) Steele.  She was a loving sister to Francis Gordon and the late George Steele.   On April 26, 1974, she was united in marriage to Walter L. Turner.

Linda retired from Campbell Hausfeld; but prided herself on being a stay-at-home mom while her children were young.  She loved singing and praising the Lord as she worked her cleaning job, was known to many for years as “The singing cleaning lady”.

Linda lived a life defined by kindness, quiet strength, and a deep devotion to the people she cherished. She is survived by her loving husband, Walter. Their bond was one of strength and companionship, serving as a testament to enduring love for over 52 years. Together, they nurtured a family that will always carry her legacy in their hearts.  Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into each generation with unwavering love.  She loved her children Shayne Turner (Frankee), Shauna Poling (Derron), and bonus children Cory Tomasettti (Eric), Wayne Abney (Patti), and Robin Riede.   Linda enjoyed being a grandma and treasured spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Brittany Thompson (Steven Kennedy + Lizzy, Zoey, Lilli, Bentley, Owen, Chase & Mason), Brandon Thompson, Chantz Turner (Katelynn), Skyler Turner, Kallista Turner, Erin Abney, Jacob Riede (Laura +Jaden & Rose), Joshua Riede (Tatiana +Phobe).

She loved celebrating life with her nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and church family.  As we remember Linda, we celebrate a life well-lived, rich in love, faith, and familial bonds.  She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all.

A celebration of her life will be held from 2-6pm on Sunday, July 12th at Oak Forest Church of Christ in Brookville, Indiana.  Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the beautiful life she lived.  Her family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered kindness, support, prayers, and food during this difficult time.  Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.
