From the very beginning, Mendy was a daddy’s girl — deeply connected, deeply loved, and shaped by the bond that taught her loyalty and grit. That foundation carried into every role she embraced throughout her life. She was born in Madison, Indiana on November 30, 1959 to John and Evelyn (Conway) Snyder.
As a mother, Mendy raised her son, Drew, with love, encouragement, commitment, and patience. As a grandmother to Autumn (6 years) and Dillan (5 months), she was the welcoming lap, warm smile, and gentle hugs that soothed and celebrated in equal measure.
Mendy was a sister who valued spending time, and her affection was quiet but powerful — expressed through small acts of kindness, thoughtful gestures, and the way she remembered every detail that mattered.
Mendy was a friend whose loyalty was absolute. She showed up — every time, without hesitation. Her friends knew they could lean on her, confide in her, and trust her with their hearts. She was a supportive friend, the kind who listened deeply and loved without conditions.
Mendy’s care and compassion extended into her career as she worked at the YMCA, The Chateau, and New Horizons. She openly offered care, compassion, stability, and understanding to those who needed her most — proving that love does not require words to be felt.
Her heart extended beyond people to the creatures she adored. Mendy was regularly a temporary sanctuary for dogs and cats, while having a love for horses. She loved them all — the lonely, the abandoned, the overlooked — and they loved her back with the pure, uncomplicated devotion she cherished.
Mendy was dependable, the one you called first. She was committed, giving her whole self to every responsibility and relationship. She was affectionate, expressing love through small gestures that lingered long after. She was loving in a way that shaped and strengthened everyone around her.
Her life was a tapestry of devotion — to her family, her friends, her work, and every living soul she cared for. Her absence is profound, and she will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 p.m., all at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 State Road 46 East, Batesville, Indiana. These services will be together with services for her dad, John.
