James R. Blevans, 63, of Osgood passed away at 2:45 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was born in Oahu, Hawaii on February 18, 1963, the son of Robert and Helen McCreary Blevans. Survivors include his mother Helen Hassler of Versailles; two sons Justin and Andre; one sister Roxie (Raymond) Duke of Versailles. He was preceded in death by his father. James served in the US Army from May 13, 1980 until February 28, 1983, serving with the 179th Military Detachment. For service to his country James received the Army Service Ribbon. He was a former employee of DuFoil in Sunman and attended the Church of Christ at Osgood. Memorial graveside services will be held at the Indiana Veteran Cemetery in Madison on Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. with Bro. Earl Thomas officiating. Military graveside honors will be by the Madison American Legion. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
