Jean Ott, age 94, of Metamora, Indiana died Saturday, June 27, 2026 at her residence in Metamora following a lengthy illness.
Born September 23, 1931, in Owsley County, Kentucky she was the oldest of eleven children of the late Bleve C. & Edith O. (Burch) Allen. On March 18, 1950 she was united in marriage to Everett D. ‘Buss’ Ott and he preceded her in death on February 1, 1999. She lived on the same farm in Metamora since 1950.
She retired from the former Hill-Rom in Batesville, Indiana in 1993, after 30 years of service.
She was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Holiness Church in Metamora.
In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren’s school events, and going to Church.
Survivors include three children, Debbie Mitchell, Lorna (Jack) Dowd all of Metamora, Indiana; Greg (Tina) Ott of Monroe, Ohio, a son-in-law, Dave Robinson of Metamora, Indiana; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren with another one on the way; two sisters, Sharon Rasner and Peggy Free both of Connersville, Indiana; a brother, Delbert Allen of Metamora, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, and husband Everett, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly Ott Wilson and Lisa Jean Robinson; two son-in-laws, Calvin Mitchell, Daniel Joseph Wilson; a grandson, Dustin Fasbinder, two sisters, Wilma Wireman and Terri Wilson; five brothers, Dennis Dale Allen, Isham Allen, Stanley Allen, Melvin Paul Allen, Walter G. Allen.
Family & friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Trinity Full Gospel Holiness Church, 20015 Haytown Hill Road, Metamora. Burial will then follow in Cupps Chapel Cemetery in Metamora, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Full Gospel Church or the American Kidney Foundation.
