FFA Chapters Successful at Convention

(Noblesville, IN) – The members of several area FFA chapters competed at the 97th Indiana FFA State Convention, which took place last week in Noblesville.

East Central FFA received the Top 10 Chapter Donor Award (pictured).

Chapter members also took part in Leadership Development Events (LDE) and Career Development Events (CDE):

  • 1st Place Nursery Landscape Team
  • 1st Place Agricultural Sales Proficiency- Jared Enda
  • 2nd Place Nursery Landscape Team
  • 2nd Place Wildlife Habitat Team
  • 2nd Place Specialty Animal Production Proficiency – Cambryn Botts
  • 4th Place Employment Skills LDE – Tyler Stenger
  • 2nd Place Freshman Prepared Public Speaking LDE – Reagan Whitehead
  • Megan Lutz also competed in the Ag Sales Presentation LDE competition on Monday.

In addition, Matt Kuntz from the Batesville FFA chapter was crowned champion of the Unified Animal, Dairy and Meat Science CDE; and Owen Denni, also a member of Batesville FFA, took first place in the Diversified Crop Production Placement Proficiency.

  • South Dearborn FFA: Danica Neff, Nicholas Wismann
  • South Decatur FFA: Lilly Asher, Raygan Harrison, Michael Nobbe, Nick Nobbe
  • South Ripley FFA: Callie Comer, Heath Comer, Ashtyn Peelman, Madalyn Sizemore

As we previously reported, North Decatur FFA’s Garrett Schwering was elected and installed as State Treasurer for 2026-27, and Jenna Crawford from Franklin County High School FFA was among the 17 candidates in the running for state offices at the convention.
