
Mrs. Peggy S. (McClurg) Tressler, age 82, of Greensburg, Indiana and Switzerland County, Indiana entered this life on November 26, 1943 in Connersville, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Ernest J. and Ethel C. (Clark) McClurg. Peggy was raised in Connersville, Indiana and was a 1961 graduate of Connersville High School. On July 29, 1962, she was united in marriage to Bruce Tressler at First Southern Baptist Church in Connersville, Indiana. Together, they shared nearly 64 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and love. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She was a dedicated homemaker who lovingly raised her five children and later selflessly cared for her mother, Ethel, in the six years before her passing. Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life and was evident in the kindness, compassion, and service she extended to others. Peggy served on the Greensburg Community School District board for eight years and volunteered with Bread of Life in Greensburg for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greensburg, Indiana, and Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Indiana. Peggy found great happiness in gardening, tending to her flowers, and preserving the fruits of her labor through canning. She had a passion for antiques and especially cherished collecting Blue Willow dinnerware and various glassware. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, caring heart, servant’s spirit, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Peggy passed away at 7:45 a.m., Sunday, June 21, 2026, at her residence in Greensburg, Indiana.
Peggy will be missed by her husband, Bruce Tressler of Greensburg, IN; her sons and daughter, Stan Tressler and his wife, Becky of Rising Sun, IN, Andy Tressler and his wife, Patti of Canton, GA, Pete Tressler and his wife, Lisa of Greensburg, IN, Lainie Redding and her husband, Arron of Woodstock, GA, and Brad Tressler of Greensburg, IN; her 14 grandchildren; her 19 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce C. Sweatt and her husband, Charles of Puryear, TN; her sisters-in-law, Joan Lohrey and her husband, Ray of Brookville, IN, and Pat Tressler of Connersville, IN; and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest J. and Ethel C. (Clark) McClurg; her brother, Larry Clark McClurg; and her brother-in-law, Mike Tressler.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2026, by Rev. Mike Sawalich, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
