EF-2 Confirmed in Dearborn Co

(Dearborn County, IN) – There are now two confirmed tornadoes that hit Southeastern Indiana last week.

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-2 twister touched down in Dearborn County near Aurora.

An attached garage was destroyed and a tree fell onto a house on Cole Lane.

The twister destroyed a house and two outbuildings on East Laughery Creek Road.

There were also reports of damaged trees in the area.

The tornado reached peak speeds of 130 mph.

Forecasters say it began east of Dillsboro and continued on to Ohio County near Rising Sun before going across the Ohio River and ending in Boone County, Kentucky.

One person was injured.

A total of six confirmed tornadoes touched down in the Tri State last week, including an EF-2 near Drewersburg in southeastern Franklin County.
