The Reds topped the New York Yankees 4-1 in the series finale at Yankee Stadium heard yesterday on WRBI. Cincinnati takes two out of three games in the Bronx. Tyler Stephenson put the Reds in front for good with a three-run homer in the 4th inning. Noelvi Marte added an RBI ground rule double in the top of the 9th. Chase Burns went five innings, and gave up five hits, one earned run, and walked three while striking out seven to get the win and improve his record to 9-1. He also lowered his ERA to 2.00. Tony Santillan pitched perfect 8th and 9th innings to earn his fifth save of the year. Elmer Rodriguez started for the pinstripes and was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs on four hits plus two walks. The Reds open a three-game series against the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers tonight at Great American Ball Park. Brady Singer (3-6, 5.32 ERA) makes the start for Cincinnati. Christian Lungard took the checkered flag at IndyCar’s Grand Prix of Road America race in Wisconsin on Sunday. It’s his third career win on the circuit.

The Indiana Fever (9-7) tips off a three-game homestand when they entertain the Phoenix Mercury (5-12) in WNBA action tonight. It’s the first of two games between the Fever and Mercury in downtown Indianapolis. Tipoff is at 8 p.m.
