(St. Leon, IN) – Jamie Rosfeld has been recommended to become the next principal at East Central High School, effective July 1, pending approval at the July 25 special Sunman-Dearborn School Board meeting.

Rosfeld currently serves as Assistant Principal at East Central High School and brings more than 25 years of experience in education to the role.

She is an ECHS grad and returned to her alma mater in 2001 as a Business Education teacher before joining the administrative team in 2011.

Rosfeld has served in a variety of leadership roles throughout her career and was named Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) District 10 Assistant Principal of the Year in both 2015 and 2020.

“Jamie has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, a deep commitment to our students, and a passion for building strong relationships throughout the East Central community,” said Superintendent Andrew Jackson. “Her understanding of our school, our traditions, and our vision for the future make her an outstanding choice to lead East Central High School. Her experience, dedication, and student-centered approach will serve East Central well as we continue building on our tradition of excellence.”

Throughout her career, Rosfeld has provided leadership in curriculum, assessment, scheduling, career and technical education, graduation pathways, dual credit programming, work-based
learning, school accountability initiatives, and implementation of the New Indiana Diploma. Her work has been guided by a belief that every student deserves meaningful opportunities to
discover their passions and prepare for a successful future.

“I am deeply honored for the opportunity to serve as the next Principal of East Central High School,” Rosfeld said. “As a proud East Central graduate and someone who has dedicated the past 25 years to serving this school community as both a teacher and administrator, this role is both humbling and deeply meaningful to me.

“East Central has a long-standing tradition of excellence built by outstanding students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and strong leadership. I am excited for the future and remain committed to fostering a culture of high expectations, strong relationships, and opportunities that empower every student to achieve their goals,” she added. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to leading and serving alongside this incredible school community.”

Rosfeld and her husband, Jason, are lifelong residents of the Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation and East Central alumni. They have raised four sons who attended Sunman-Dearborn, reinforcing their belief that every student should have access to opportunities that support their individual goals and aspirations.

She will succeed Tom Black, who had served as principal since 2018.

“The district extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Black for his years of dedicated service and leadership and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors,” reads a statement from Sunman-Dearborn Schools.

Black’s hiring as Batesville Middle School Principal was approved by the Batesville Community School Board on Wednesday.
