The Arizona Diamondbacks scored three unearned runs in the 9th inning to beat the Reds 5-2 in the series opener in downtown Cincinnati in a game heard last night on WRBI. The game was tied at 2-all heading into the 9th when leftfielder Blake Dunn dropped a fly ball on what would have been the third out. The error allowed the go ahead run to score. The Diamondbacks tacked on two more runs for the final margin. The Reds were 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base. Starter Nick Lodolo had a solid outing. He gave up five hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out five over 5 1/3 innings. The middle game of the series is this afternoon. Rhett Lowder (3-3, 5.01 earned run average) goes for the Reds against Diamondbacks righthander Michael Soroka (8-3, 3.28 ERA). Coverage begins at 3:40 on 103.9 FM.

The Indiana Fever continue WNBA Commissioners Cup play this evening on the road against the Connecticut Sun. Indiana is 3-1 in the mid-season tournament. Tipoff this evening is at 6:00.

The Cincinnati Bengals on Friday revealed their 2026 training camp schedule. It will kick off on July 29 with the first of six practices open to the public, including a special Friday night session inside Paycor Stadium on August 7.
