(Lawrenceburg, IN) – Talen Energy Corporation has received the remaining regulatory approval to purchase a Southeastern Indiana natural gas plant.
Indiana Business Journal says the independent power producer headquartered in Houston, Texas received federal approval last week to go thru with its $3.45 billion acquisition of the Lawrenceburg Power Plant.
The facility has the capacity to produce about 1,200 megawatts of power.
The deal is part of Talen Energy’s purchase of three gas-fired PJM power assets from Energy Capital Partners.
Besides the Lawrenceburg Power Plant, the company is also acquiring Waterford Energy Center and Darby Generating Station, both in Ohio.
