Linda K. Runyon, age 74, of Brookville, Indiana died late Friday, May 29, 2026, at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.
Born May 23, 1952, in Batesville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Hamp & Mary Irene (Renner) Ball. On June 6, 1970, she was united in marriage to Robert D. Runyon, and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2023.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Andersonville Christian Church. In her leisure time she enjoyed nature, gardening, cooking for her family and friends, and reading. She also cherished Christmas, and the true meaning of Christmas held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed listening to the music of Simon & Garfunkel and Cat Stevens.
People were naturally drawn to her warmth, welcoming spirit, and gift for conversation. She was blessed with many dear friends over the years and cherished each one, turning ordinary moments into lasting memories through long talks and shared laughter.
Survivors include two children, Andrew Steven Runyon of Andersonville, Indiana and Kristina Marie Runyon of Brookville, Indiana; two granddaughters and 3 grandsons; five siblings, Leonard (Pat) Ball of Richmond, Indiana, Shirley (Chris) Fehl of Connersville, Indiana, Donald (Cheryl) Ball of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Lloyd (Rosemary) Ball of St. Peters, Indiana and Karen (Monte) Wolfe of Brookville, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Matthew Runyon and David Anthony Runyon, and three brothers, Robert Lee Ball, Dempsey Harold Ball, and Charles Ball.
Family & friends may visit from 10 until 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Andersonville Christian Church, 27081 State Road 244, Laurel, Indiana.
Her son, Andrew S. Runyon, will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the Andersonville Christian Church. Burial will then follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Rush County, Indiana.
