(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) proudly announces the addition of Marcy Baumer, PA-C, to its Pulmonology team.

With more than 25 years of experience, Marcy brings a strong background in diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic conditions, supporting patients with a wide range of respiratory and overall health needs.

Marcy earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Butler University/IU Health’s Physician Assistant Program, graduating Cum Laude, and holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Chemistry and Biology from Indiana University Bloomington. Throughout her career, she has provided care across multiple specialties, including internal medicine, primary care, and occupational health, giving her a well-rounded approach to patient care.

DCMH completed the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), which indicated that Decatur County continues to experience a significant burden of chronic lung and respiratory-related disease. High rates of nicotine dependence and COPD diagnoses directly contribute to long-term lung health complications.

Cancer remains a major concern locally, with overall cancer rates ranked sixth highest in Indiana. These patterns highlight the ongoing impact of tobacco use, chronic disease, and delayed detection on community lung health and overall outcomes.

At DCMH Pulmonology, Marcy will care for patients experiencing conditions such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, sleep apnea, and other lung-related concerns. Her experience managing complex conditions and interpreting diagnostic exams allows her to provide thorough, personalized care to help patients better understand and manage their respiratory health.

“We are excited to welcome Marcy to our Pulmonology team,” said Kristol Hadler, Executive Director of Nursing and Operations. “Marcy’s depth of experience and patient-centered approach enhance our ability to provide high-quality respiratory care to our community.”

Originally from Batesville, Marcy is proud to continue serving patients close to home. She has been married for 26 years and has two sons currently in college. Coming from a close-knit
family of ten siblings, she values connection and community.

Outside of work, Marcy enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. She is a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Indianapolis Colts, enjoys working out and taking walks in Liberty Park, and spending time with her dog and two cats.
