(Franklin County, IN) – Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man following a shots fired report in the area of the 12,000 block of Whitcomb Road around 6:57 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators say a caller reported seeing a blue van in the area firing shots near the roadway.
The vehicle was later located by Indiana Conservation Officers and Laurel Police at Fox Run Campground, which is just off State Road 101 near Brookville Lake.
During the investigation, deputies recovered a .22 caliber shell casing and a Ruger 10/22 rifle believed to be connected with the incident.
Twenty-four-year-old Logan Rowlett was taken into custody and transported to the Franklin County Security Center on a preliminary charge of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon (Level 6 felony).
Deputies say Rowlett, who is from Cincinnati, is also facing a preliminary charge related to possession of marijuana.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage as a result of the rounds being squeezed off.
A motive for the shooting hasn’t been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
