Decatur Co Emergency Vehicle Training Starts Thursday

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office reminds you that County Road 250 West will be closed between Vandalia and Base roads, including Reservoir Road, for roughly 12 days starting this week.

The road will be shut down from 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 28 until Noon on June 8 for the agency’s annual Emergency Vehicle Operations training.

Motorists are asked to use an alternate route during the closure.

The sessions are state-mandated and are held locally instead of sending first responders to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, which saves the county money.

The training is conducted 24/7 and while law enforcement officers are on duty.

Police from jurisdictions throughout Decatur County plus EMTs are expected to take part in the EVO training.
