The road will be shut down from 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 28 until Noon on June 8 for the agency’s annual Emergency Vehicle Operations training.
Motorists are asked to use an alternate route during the closure.
The sessions are state-mandated and are held locally instead of sending first responders to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, which saves the county money.
The training is conducted 24/7 and while law enforcement officers are on duty.
Police from jurisdictions throughout Decatur County plus EMTs are expected to take part in the EVO training.
