A proud graduate of North Dearborn in the class of 1967, Vella applied her skills and strength in a career at Campbell Hausfeld, where she distinguished herself as a machinist and ascended to the position of Chief Union Steward. Her professional life was a testament to her resilience and leadership, embodying a spirit of diligence and camaraderie.
Vella’s life was deeply intertwined with her faith as a devoted member of Bright Christian Church. On October 11, 2003, she united in marriage with Wayne Reiman at St. John United Church of Christ in Harrison, Ohio, marking the beginning of a lasting partnership cherished by all who knew them.
Her legacy endures through her loving family: her husband Wayne Reiman; her daughter Michelle (Mike) Inman; and son Matthew (Genessa) McIntosh. Vella’s warmth and love extended to her grandchildren—Miles, Ashley, Anthony, Isaiah, Noelle, Matelynn, and Owen—who were the light of her life.
She was also a beloved sister to Kathy Hess, Ken (Sandy) Westrich, and Mark (Nancy) Westrich, and held dear her sister-in-law Donna Westrich and brother-in-law David Hartman. Vella’s memory is forever intertwined with those who preceded her in death: her parents Michael “Mick” and Barbara Westrich; her siblings Mike Westrich and Pam Hartman; and brother-in-law Alan Hess.
