Lester W. Schneider, age 97, of Brookville, Indiana died Monday, May 18, 2026 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.
Born July 29, 1928, in Franklin County, Indiana he was the son of the late Charles & Anna (Wiwi) Schneider. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. On June 18, 1955 he and the former Yvonne Volk were united in marriage and she survives.
Lester worked for many years for the Franklin County Community School Corporation and also served for many years as a police officer for the Town of Brookville.
He was a member of the Bernard Hurst Post #77 of the American Legion.
Besides Bonnie, his loving wife of over 70 years, survivors include four children, Bill Schneider of Ocala, Florida, Brenda Farmer of West Harrison, Indiana, Rebecca Beesley of Brookville, Indiana and Barbara Schneider of Orlando, Florida; three grandchildren, Ray Farmer, John French, Rachel McAdams; as well as four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Laker; three brothers, Cletus Schneider, Lavern Schneider, and Charles Schneider.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no public services.
