(Dearborn County, IN) – INDOT is scheduled to reduce the speed limit on State Road 48 in Dearborn County on or after Wednesday, May 27.
The speed limit will be lowered from 45 and 55 mph to 40 mph between Schaefer Road and Platt Road in Manchester, and between State Road 148 and Scenic Drive near Lawrenceburg.
The entire portion of State Road 48 between Platt Road and State Road 148 will be reduced to 45 mph.
INDOT says the speed limit is being lowered to properly accommodate the roadway’s composition, and to enhance safety in the area.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
