(Ripley County, IN) – First responders from several agencies rescued three people after they attempted to drive through floodwater in Ripley County on Thursday morning.

Indiana Conservation Officers and an Indiana State Police diver entered the North Fork of Graham Creek and used water rescue techniques to reach the vehicle and move the vehicle’s occupants to safety.

All three were treated at the scene and released.

Other responding agencies included the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, and the New Marion, Holton, and Osgood volunteer fire departments.

Meanwhile, conservation officers are using the incident to remind you to never attempt to drive through floodwater, and to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
