(Milan, IN) – The Milan Volunteer Fire Department and Southeastern Indiana REMC were called to the 1,000 block of North State Road 101 on Tuesday after a communication wire was hit by an oversized load.
This caused the utility pole to be pulled up out of the ground.
REMC crews helped get the line out of the roadway.
“Now, before anybody starts bashing the trucking company it must be noted that the driver was following a pre determined route assigned to him by officials up in Indy,” the Milan Fire Department wrote in a statement. “The driver and his escort stopped the load in the first available safe spot they could find and waited for responders to arrive and fully corporate with the investigation.”
There were no injuries reported.
