Bobby Metcalf, Sr., age 68, West Harrison

Bobby Metcalf, Sr., a devoted family man, respected community servant, and proud veteran, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in Harrison, Ohio. Born on April 17, 1958, to Tom and Betty Jo (nee Lawwill) Metcalf in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bobby lived a life characterized by dedication, faith, and service.

A graduate of East Central High School, Bobby’s commitment to his country was evident early on as he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. His work ethic extended into his civilian career where he was a skilled machinist at Ford Motor Company until his retirement on July 1, 2007. Beyond his professional life, Bobby answered a higher calling as a Minister of the Gospel, inspiring and guiding many through his ministry. He was a founding member of the Lerose Community Church that opened in 2018 and faithfully served as their assistant pastor for the last 6 years.

Bobby’s greatest pride came from his family and his faith. He and his beloved wife, Lula (Breeden) Metcalf, whom he married on June 25, 1983, at Scipio Baptist Church, shared a remarkable life together. His love and devotion extended to his sons, Bobby Metcalf Jr., Justin (Kyri) Metcalf, and Michael (Aubrie) Metcalf. He was a loving grandfather to ten grandchildren: Weslee, Mason, Wyatt, Liam, Brogan, Gabriel, Carson, RoRo, Lincoln, and Steven, who brought immense joy to his life.

Bobby is also survived by his brothers Tommy (Tammy) Metcalf, Danny (Cathy) Metcalf, and Jimmy (Kimberly) Metcalf. He respectfully leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and commitment, mourning alongside those who cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Tom and Betty Jo Metcalf, and his brother Dennis Metcalf.

Visitation to honor Bobby’s memory will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home located at 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. His funeral service will follow on Saturday, May 30, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio with Military honors Provided by the United States Marine Corp and the Harrison Funeral Detail.

Bobby Metcalf, Sr.’s life was a testament to hard work, faith, and enduring love for his family and community. His legacy will long be remembered and treasured by all who knew him.
