Two-time Indianapolis 500 champ Josef Newgarden led Monday’s rain-shortened practice for the 110th running of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” by turning in the fastest lap at 226.198 miles per hour. But Monday at the Brickyard was rocked when Alexander Rossi hit the wall after spinning in Turn 2 just a few minutes into the session. Pato O’Ward and Romain Grosjean were caught up in the accident. O’Ward and Grosjean were treated at the track hospital and released.
