Tyler G. Smith, 35, Connersville

Tyler Gene Smith, 35, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026. A lifelong resident of the Connersville area, he was a devoted husband and father who took pride in his work and found real joy in building and fixing things.

Born July 1, 1990, in Connersville, Indiana, Tyler attended Connersville High School. He spent much of his career as a bucket foreman with Townsend Tree Service, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady presence on the job. Outside of work, Tyler’s greatest passion was working on cars. He especially loved his Mustang and could often be found in the garage, tinkering, building, and restoring — a true “garage monkey” who found peace and purpose in creating and repairing with his own two hands.

Tyler is survived by his wife, Ashley Walton; his sons, Ryker Smith and Lukas Smith; his step-son, Mason; and his brothers, Travis (Natasha) Dixon and Collin Jackson. He was also a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, who looked up to him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Iva Sue Smith.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Laurel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Laurel, Indiana, with the funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Bro. Glen Goins and Bro. Ryan Reams will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to support Tyler’s two sons.

Tyler lived a life rooted in hard work and family. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for his family, and the way he showed up for the people who mattered most to him.
