
Max Meyer drove in five runs on two hits to lead Batesville JV baseball past Madison 18-5 on Friday at the Dawg Pound.
Meyer went 2 for 4 at the plate and drove in three runs on a triple in the second inning. He plated two more on a single in the fourth, and scored a total of three runs in the game.
The Bulldogs erupted for eight runs on five hits in the bottom of the second to take an 8-1 lead – highlighted by Meyer’s three-run triple.
A walk by Tiago Batta, and a groundout by Eli Doll helped Batesville extend their early lead in the third.
The Bulldogs scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Michael Linville went 2 for 2 with and RBI and two runs scored.
Landon Grossman scored three runs. Batta, Lane Higham, Jake Schornick and Jack Huber scored two runs a piece. And Jackson Peetz crossed the plate once.
Doll started on the mound for Batesville and allowed five hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two.
The BHS JVs have won three in a row.
