The Washington Nationals rallied to beat the Reds 8-7 in 10 innings at Great American Ball Park last night in a game heard on WRBI. Cincinnati led 5-0 after the 1st inning. The highlight of the frame was a Tyler Stephenson grand slam. Daylen Lile’s two-run homer in the top of the 10th off Tony Santillan was the difference in the game. Reds starter Nick Lodolo pitched four innings, allowing six hits, five runs (all earned), three walks, and six strikeouts. The Reds will try to avoid the series sweep this afternoon when they send righthander Chase Burns to the mound. He’s 4-1 with a 2.11 earned run average. The Nats will go with lefthander Foster Griffin. He’s also 4-1 with a 2.12 ERA. Coverage on 103.9 FM begins following the Noon news block.

The Reds signed free agent starting pitcher Chris Paddack to a one-year Major League contract yesterday after placing Rhett Lowder on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder discomfort. Paddack had an 0-5 record and a 7.63 ERA with Miami before he was released by the Marlins earlier this month. He will start Saturday at Cleveland. In addition, catcher P.J. Higgins was designated for assignment.

The Indiana Fever beat the Los Angeles Sparks 87-78 in WNBA action last night on the West Coast. Caitlin Clark led Indiana with 24 points while Kelsey Mitchell added 23. The Fever improves to 1-1. They’ll be back in action at home tomorrow night against the Washington Mystics.

The Indianapolis Colts will play Washington in London, England on October 4. Kickoff time was not disclosed. The NFL will release the full 2026 schedule tonight.
