East Central swept both ends of the EIAC track and field meet last night at Connersville. In the girls meet, it was the Trojans with 166 points; Batesville finished with 157; Lawrenceburg was third with 102, followed by Greensburg 44; Franklin County 41; Rushville 40; Connersville 37, and South Dearborn 33. East Central won the boys meet with 150 points, followed by Batesville with 110.5; Greensburg and Lawrenceburg tied for third at 71; Rushville had 63; South Dearborn 55; Connersville 49.5, and Franklin County 48.

The Washington Nationals clubbed six home runs on their way to a 10-4 rout of the Reds in the series opener in downtown Cincinnati heard last night on the Sports Voice. Daylen Lile and Luis Garcia, Jr. homered twice for the Nationals. James Wood and Brady House also went deep. Brady Singer took the loss after going 3 2/3 innings, allowing six hits, three earned runs, three homers, one walk and two strikeouts. The Reds will try to even the series tonight when Nick Lodolo goes to the mound in search of his first win of the year.  He’s 0-1 with a 6.74 earned run average. The Nats will counter with Jake Irvin, who is 1-4 with a 5.22 ERA. Coverage begins at 6:10 on 103.9 FM.

The Cincinnati Bengals will play the Atlanta Falcons in Madrid, Spain on Sunday, Nov. 8. Kickoff will be at 9:30 am. The NFL will release the full 2026 schedule tomorrow night.

Practice continues at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 110th running of the Indy 500 on May 24. Qualifying takes place on Saturday and Sunday. We’ll have coverage this weekend on the Sports Voice.
