(Versailles, IN) – The Southeastern Career Center (SCC) was recently recognized as a recipient of the Indiana Career and Technical Education (CTE) Award for Excellence for its Veterinary Program.

The award was presented by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Indiana Association for Career and Technical Education.

It recognizes outstanding career and technical programs across the state.

The Veterinary Program was established at the Career Center just three years ago, and school leaders say it’s grown since then into an incredible opportunity for students interested in animal science and veterinary careers.

SCC officials expressed gratitude to instructors who helped build and strengthen the program.

Jessica McQueen developed and launched both the first- and second-year curriculum, and Kelsie Terrell has continued to grow the program, which school leaders say creates creating meaningful hands-on learning experiences and help students thrive.

“This recognition becomes even more meaningful knowing that this December, eight SCC Veterinary Program graduates who continued their education at the Vet Tech Institute of Indiana will graduate with their associate degrees. Seeing our students continue their education and achieve success beyond SCC is exactly why these programs matter,” reads a statement from the Southeastern Career Center. “This award is a reflection of the dedication of our staff, students, and community partners who continue to make SCC a place where students can discover their passions and prepare for successful futures. Congratulations to everyone involved in our Veterinary Program on this outstanding accomplishment ”
