Lisa Marie Staat, 56, of Brookville, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026. She was born December 21, 1969 in Lawrenceburg, the beloved daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Jordan) Ballard.
Lisa was a woman who found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved vacationing, especially trips to the beach where she could enjoy the ocean and its peacefulness. An avid gardener, Lisa took pride in her flowers and had a special gift for making things bloom. She treasured time spent with family and friends, but her greatest joy in life was being “Grandma.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she loved them deeply.
Lisa had a kind and gentle spirit that touched everyone she met. She made those around her feel loved, valued, and cared for, and the world is better for having known her. A faithful reader of her Bible, Lisa lived her life with quiet faith, compassion, and love for others. She worked for many years as an Office Manager at American Aggregates and later at Martin Marietta, where she was respected and appreciated by her coworkers and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Staat of Brookville, IN; her son, Bo (Hannah) Staat of Liberty, IN; her daughter, Alex (Jacob) Franklin of Brookville, IN; her brothers, Lee (Dana) Ballard of Liberty, IN and Brian (Mary Beth) Ballard of Guilford, IN; her brothers-in-law, Chad (Julie) Staat of Brookville, IN and Lance Staat of Sunman, IN; her cherished grandchildren, Connor Staat, Riley Staat, and Liam “Doodle” Franklin; her father-in-law, Butch Staat of Batesville, IN; her mother-in-law, Nancy Daddio of Fairfield, OH; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mary Ballard, and her brother, Donnie Ballard.
