One Injured in Paramotor Aircraft Crash

(Osgood, IN) – A Moores Hill teen was seriously injured in a paramotor aircraft crash last Thursday evening in Osgood.

The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the area of Shook Street and County Road 300 North around 7:36 p.m., and found a male identified as 18-year-old Timothy Miller suffering from injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators say Miller was operating the aircraft when a gust of wind occurred while he was gaining altitude just after takeoff.

Miller lost control of his aircraft, and he crashed into a metal shelving unit.

He was taken by helicopter to UC Medical Center.

His condition is not known at this time.

The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Osgood Fire Department; Ripley County EMS; Federal Aviation Administration; Ripley County Communications, and Stat Flight 5.
