The Houston Astros whitewashed the Reds 10-0 in the weekend series opener at Great American Ball Park heard last night on WRBI. It was the Reds eighth straight loss. Nick Lodolo made his season debut after missing the first six weeks with a blister on his left index finger. He gave up a pair of two-run homers, and allowed four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two over 5 1/3 innings. The Reds try to end the losing skid this afternoon when they send Chase Burns to the mound. He’s 3-1 with a 2.20 earned run average. The Astros counter with Spencer Arrighetti, who is 4-0 with a 1.96 ERA. First pitch in downtown Cincinnati is at 4:10.

Lodolo was activated from the injured list before last night’s game. To make room for him on the 26-man roster, the Reds optioned pitcher Jose Franco to Triple-A Louisville.

The Indiana Fever tip off the 2026 WNBA regular season at home this afternoon against the Dallas Wings. Game time is 1 p.m.
