SLS Competes at SR, ND Track Meets

St. Louis competed at middle school track and field meets hosted by South Ripley and North Decatur this week.

The South Ripley boys hosted and won a four-way track and field meet Wednesday night.

It was the Raiders 60; Shawe Memorial 45; St. Louis 42, and Jac-Cen-Del 36.

Among the Cardinals competitors:

Ross Lieland came in 2nd place in discus with 100’1″.  Ross Lieland placed fourth in shot put with 28′ 9″.  Nicholas Lieland placed third in high jump with 4’0″.  Blaise Frey placed fourth in high jump with 3’10”.  Salvador Schutte placed third in hurdles with 23.15 seconds.  Simon Brelage placed fourth in hurdles with 24.45 seconds.  Ben Kranz placed second in the 100 meter with 13.78 seconds.  Jordan Brelage placed fourth with 14.86 seconds.  Simon Brelage placed third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:05.94 seconds.  Blaise Frey placed fourth with 6:13.3 seconds.  Boys 4×100 meter relay placed second with 59.51 seconds consisting of Ross Lieland, Nicholas Lieland, Ethan Dierckman, Jordan Brelage, Nicholas Lieland.  Ethan Dierckman placed fifth in the 400 meter dash with a 74.36 seconds.  Jordan Brelage placed third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:45.4.  Simon Brelage placed fifth with 2:50.05.  Isaac Nuñez placed fourth in the 200 meter with 31.89 seconds.  The 4×400 meter relay placed second with a time of 4:47.54 consisting of Jordan Brleage, Ross Lieland, Nicholas Lieland, Ben Kranz.

JCD won the girls meet with 61 points, followed by St. Louis with 57; South Ripley 55, and Shawe 11.

Results for the Cardinals were:

Reagan Siefert placed second in discus with 60’6″.  Reagan placed third in shot put with 21’8″.  Eleanor Spielman placed fifth in shot put with 20’3″.  Reagan Siefert placed second in high jump with 4’2″.  Isla Padgett placed third with 3’10”.  Lucy Brelage placed third in long jump with 12’4.5″.  Claire Baker placed fourth with 12’4″.  Lucy Brelage placed second in hurdles with 19.04 seconds.  Halle Meyer placed fourth with 22.11 seconds.  Claire Baker placed second in the 100 meter with 14.09 seconds.  Lucy Brelage placed third with 14.26 seconds.  Isla Padgett placed fourth in the 1600 meter run with 6:34.99.  The girls 4×100 meter relay placed second with 60.47 seconds.  Lucy Becker placed fourth in the 400 meter with 76.21 seconds.  Lesly Nuñez placed fifth with 76.29 seconds.  Addy Wuestefeld placed second in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:08.47.  Eleanor Spielman placed third in the 800 meter with 3:12.09 seconds.  Halle Meyer placed fifth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 35.16 seconds.  The girls 4×400 meter relay placed first with a 5:01.86 seconds consisting of Lesly Nuñez, Lucy Becker, Isla Padgett, Claire Becker.

North Decatur hosted and won both ends of a three-way meet involving St. Louis and Southwestern Monday evening.

In the boys meet, it was the Chargers 57; the Cardinals 37, and Southwestern 31.

Among the Cardinal athletes:

Ross Lieland came in 2nd place in discus with 105’5″.  Nick Siefert finished fourth in discus with 64’6″.  Ross Lieland placed third in shot put with 26’11”, and Nick Siefert placed fourth in shot put with 19’9″.  Ben Kranz placed first in the high jump with 4’4″.  Nicholas Lieland and Blaise Frey tied for second in high jump with 4’0″.  Nicholas Lieland placed fourth in long jump with 12’3″.  Salvador Schutte placed third in hurdles with 22.53 seconds.  Simon Brelage placed fourth in hurdles with 24.62 seconds.  Ben Kranz placed second in the 100 meter with 13.16 seconds.  Simon Brelage placed third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:07.17 seconds.  Blaise Frey placed fourth with 6:12.96 seconds.   Ethan Dierckman placed second in the 400 meter dash with a 76.64 seconds, and Isaac Nuñez with 79.63 seconds. Jordan Brelage placed third in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:51.12.  Simon Brelage placed fourth with 2:53.70.  The 4×400 meter relay placed first with a time of 4:48.41 consisting of Jordan Brelage, Ross Lieland, Nicholas Lieland, Ben Kranz.

The girls meet also went to North Decatur. The Chargers finished with 54 points, followed by St. Louis with 51, and Southwestern had 21.
