Rebecca Carol Myers passed away peacefully at her home in Batesville, Indiana on May 5, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished most. Born on May 22, 1947 in Alameda County, California to Ford and Lela (née Cain) McCracken, she grew up with her sister Mary and carried a deep love of family with her throughout her life. For many years she worked at MetLife in microfilming, bringing the same quiet dedication to her work that she showed in every part of her life. On January 20, 1978 she met the love of her life, Marshal Myers. They married on August 9, 1980 and began their “46-year honeymoon.”
Together they raised their son Nicholas and his wife Heather, and watched their family grow to include ten grandchildren — Sydney, Kayla, Sierra, Logan, Chloe, Gage, Ambrosia, Willow, Keeley, and Bella — along with four great-grandchildren: Malana, Mikey, Baylee, and Laney.
Rebecca found her greatest happiness in life’s simple pleasures: going on cruises, journaling her thoughts, watching birds, tending her garden and flowers, and enjoying cozy evenings with the Hallmark Channel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Mary. Marshall and the family will miss her deeply. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
