The Greensburg Pirates swept a doubleheader over the visiting Batesville Bulldogs on Thursday.
It was Greensburg 7, Batesville 5 in the first game; the Pirates took the nightcap, 6-2.
In the opener, the Pirates rallied for six runs in the bottom of the 5th inning, highlighted by a three-run triple off the bat of Luke Hoeing.
On the mound, Hoeing tossed a complete game (7 innings) four hitter, with five runs – four earned – five walks and three strikeouts.
Rylan Yeager took the loss for Batesville. He went 2/3 of an inning, surrendering five runs on one hit while walking one with no strikeouts.
In the second game, Greensburg’s Zayden Miller went 2-for-3 from the number nine spot with 2 RBIs.
William Huber and Brayden Maple drove in a run a piece for Batesville.
