(Dearborn County, IN) – A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash near the Indiana/Ohio state line Friday morning.
Indiana State Police said it happened around 7:45 a.m. on Interstate 74 in northeastern Dearborn County.
Troopers say the initial investigation indicated a 2023 Ford pickup truck was in the passing lane on I-74 heading west when a 2004 Honda motorcycle crashed into the rear of the truck.
The motorcyclist, identified as 18-year-old Christopher Davis of Hooven, Ohio, was ejected from his motorcycle and was taken by ambulance to UC Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the pickup truck, 30-year-old Gerald Hazel from Arizona, was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.
ISP received assistance from the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office, West Harrison Police Department, Harrison Fire and EMS, and the Hamilton County Ohio Coroner’s Office.
