South Ripley varsity baseball fell to Southwestern 4-3 in 8 innings on Monday.
The Raiders got on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning after Gabe Stone hit a sacrifice fly, and Mason McNew stole home.
Southwestern tied the game in the top of the 6th on a single and an error.
In the top of the 8th, Southwestern took the lead after a double down the right field line and a sacrifice bunt.
Southwestern starting pitching allowed five hits and three runs over eight innings, with nine strikeouts and five walks.
Austin Hodge took the loss for South Ripley. He went eight innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out five and walking one.
Gabe Stone and Trevor Castner were a one-two punch in the Raiders lineup. Each drove in one run for South Ripley.
Ethan Schmaltz led the Raiders with two hits in four at bats.
South Ripley turned one double play in the game.
