Congratulations to local athletes who were named ORVC players and performers of the week.
The Baseball Co-Players of the Week for April 13-18 are Milan’s Tommy Poole and Jac-Cen-Del’s Neil Sullivan.
Poole had 4 hits, 4 runs, 3 RBIs, a triple and a double in two games for the Indians.
He also pitched 5 1/3 innings with 4 strikeouts, two earned runs and six strikeouts in a win.
Sullivan had 3 hits, scored 3 runs and 2 RBIs in three games for the Eagles.
On the mound, he went 6 2/3 innings with 2 runs – 1 earned – and 16 Ks in a win.
Kynadee Bode from Milan is the Softball Player of the Week after racking up 3 RBIs, 2 hits, 2 runs, a double and a home run in two games for the Indians.
She also hurled a no-hitter against Switzerland County she struck out 9 batters in 5 innings.
The Boys Golfer of the Week is JCD’s Caden Kohlman, who fired a 38 at Wyoloosing and a 48 at Shadowood.
The Boys Track and Field Co-Performer of the Week is Mason Bascom from South Ripley.
Bascom recorded a top time of 11:47.57 in the 3200.
